story behind the song : creating miracles

Like to share some background about this song..

I can say it’s among the very first song I composed and it was really in an auspicious way. When I think about it, it’s just overwhelming to see how God works sometimes.

It was written like nearly 9 years ago for my high school’s prefects' camp. Every year, someone has that honor or responsibility to compose the camp theme song. Yes, I took up the challenge and I admit that time, it was REALLY a challenge. The theme of the camp was about unity and I have to come up with a song that reflects that. I pulled all my resources together -- with limited experience of songwriting that time, I remembered myself sitting in my room, holding my guitar and cracking my head for the lyrics and melody.

Lo and behold, I successfully composed it. Indeed I was very excited to compose a song that will be sung by many people and few days later, I presented that song to the committee. I admit I was nervous at first to hear their feedback but thank God they loved it very much and immediately asked me to teach them to sing it.

Next thing I know I presented it to everyone to learn. I was taken aback to see and hear myself how people are singing the song that I composed. That I can say, it kick start my songwriting journey into full gear.

Received encouragement and all which lead me to believe God can use songs to touch people's heart.

When I had the chance to cut an album with Jonathan Tse, this is one song I really wanted to record for everyone else in the world to hear. And yes, right now, you get to hear it =)

The album version is much different than the original version I wrote which is much acoustic and a key lower. I just wanted to go with more "grand" feeling for the album version.

Anyway, the song's message is pretty straight forward. Many people always promote unity because there's always power and strength when everyone come together to do something. Like it or not, no man is an island by himself. We cannot live our life alone for we always need support from one another.

There's so much we can do but together we can do even greater things.

That’s why people always say TEAM means Together Everyone Achieve More…so this song reflect on that meaning…it’s called Creating Miracles Through Unity.

We shoot this quite some time ago but due to ministry commitment and work, we kinda delayed the post-production. Finally we have time (and energy), we managed to go through the process and glad it's up for the whole world to see.

Indeed, we can achieve so much if we all put our differences aside, for together we can achieve greater things.

What a year it has been so far, 2011...

First, I must thank God for everything so far. Without Him, I don't think all my solo projects will be taking off. I believe in His leading and His timing. I believe He has greater plans than even myself can imagine. So looking forward to see what You have, boss-from-above.

This year it's has been an incredible journey. Been to places (although visited Ipoh very often =P) and met awesome people along the way. I just want to express my utmost appreciation to everyone who came to my concerts, had fellowship with us, helped us, prayed for us, bought my album. You never know much your support and presence mean to me and the crew. We are truly blessed by you all.

I also want to express my thanks to crew especially the band members who toured with me. Thanks for the support, help, time and sacrifice. I truly enjoyed our time together. Hope for more fun times ahead!

Not forgetting, I want to express my appreciation to my parents, Jonathan Tse, Rev Chor Kee for all your advice and support as well.

Well, I believe the journey gets better year after year!!

So stay tuned for 2012.. all I can say right now, 2nd coming is inevitable!

We did this cool thing --- switching on our handphones(or whatever cool gadget) lights to symbolized that we are called to shine like stars in the night..

On Saturday evening, FCC welcomed the visit of RELENT/1am ministry...

I started off the night with few songs, including my new song for my upcoming new album.
Lots of places have heard THAT song during my tour but it was my first time performing THAT song in front of FCC crowd...heard some good feedbacks..yay! =)

Great time opening.. and after that RELENT took over..

The night went well overall, it was rocking time all in all. About 200 ++ people turned out.

Had a great time of hanging out with them as well.. we enjoyed our time together so much that in future, we love to work with each other.. yup.. will see what's coming in future.

CGBC trip

Back in Ipoh again for the weekend for a visit at CGBC (canning garden baptist church). Was invited to share at their workshop then lead a concert.

Here are some chronicles of our journey..

9pm - Escaping KL jam to make our way to Ipoh..

11pm - Reach Ipoh. Meet our friendly person-in-charge of the event Mr William Chin

1115pm - Check in to our guest house. Lovely place...

1130pm - Late dinner/supper at Tong Sui Kai. We never fail to visit this place. We just love the beef noodles and mixed fruit ice dessert here.

1240am - Back home to unwind..and sleep!

1st October

9am - Breakfast at old town. Tried their famous egg tart, coffee, noodles

1030am - Soundcheck, setup for concert

12pm - Lunch nearby

130pm - Start workshop with the youths. It was a good experience for me to be able to share with them what is worship.

4pm - Concert time. It was good despite the last minute push for the event, glad to see people came.

We had a good time worshiping and great fellowship too..

630pm - We visited Take a Break point after knowing it from FB. Tried their macrons, was good.

645pm - After much heard and see about Michangelo, a pizza place at Ipoh, went there to have dinner. Well, the pizzas are oven stone-baked which makes the pizza tasty. Seriously yummy pizza!

745pm - Went Ipoh Parade for shopping...

1030pm - 2nd round of Tong Sui Kai. Yes, it is how much we love that place..

1145pm - Rest..

2nd October

8am - Breakfast

9am - We attended service at St Peter's Church

11am - Another round of shopping...

1230pm - Lunch with parents.

140pm - Back home to pack..

230pm - Leave Ipoh to KL

Overall, it was blessed journey. Had a great time meeting new friends and old friends as well.

Lots of fun with everyone. I thank the crew that followed :- Gracy, Joanne, Yapp and Mel. On behalf of them, we really enjoyed our time and thank God for a wonderful time.

I wanna thank William Chin and CGBC for wonderful fellowship during our trip there.

In this journey/trip, I did see how God used me to be a blessing and encouragement to others. That fact really made me grateful to Him for His leading so far. All I can do is just surrender to Him and let Him work mightily in everyone's life.

I guess this is the 'last' trip outstation as Christmas period is drawing near. But I guess we will look forward to next year then..

TL visits CGBC

Anyway, I will be on the road again, back to lovely Ipoh once again. This time, CGBC will be the destination.

MGM showcase

Went to MGM Songwriters Showcase on 10th September.

MGM stands for Malaysian Gospel Music and its function to promote more local Christian music among Malaysians.

I sang 2 unheard worship songs I composed few years ago.
One of it is among the first worship songs I composed, it's called CRY HOLY. Glad to hear it still speak so much to people as it was in the past.
The other was raw and even before the showcase, I try to re-arrange the melody of the song a bit, try my best to update the style a bit -- called Let Revival Fall. It was a gamble but I took it.. haha.. but glad to receive the feedback and learn from it.

Overall, it was a great experience and a great encouragement to be there. It encouraged me as a Christian songwriter to write good songs for the Lord and see local Christian music impacting the community. I am convicted and hope to bring such message to wherever I go, starting with FCC.

Met the well-know local Christian songwriters like Patrick Teoh and Ps. Ng Wai Lok. Great to be able to interact and get to know them in person.

It was 1am plus, was practicing and preparing for MGM showcase...took time to say some words and sing a random song...

Anyway, thank God, praise God -- it's been 2 years since THIS ROAD has been out. I m glad how God has used me and this album, my prayer is that it will continue to be a blessing to many others out there.

Philippians 2:15-16 -- ..So that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

We lived in a world full of despair and hopelessness. However, we all are called to be the light that brings blessing to the people around us.

That is the message we want to bring out in this concert.

Come 20th August, not just we get to know each other more, we get to know our God more and more and enjoy His goodness!

Reflections on 1st album songs

Nearly 2 years since This Road was launched, I thought it's time for me to share some interesting insights and background about the song list of the album.

1st song – THE ONE
The joy of having someone in your life, in this case, having God in my life means the world to me.

2nd song – MY LIFE
You live for something in life, there is something that drives you to live on. The heartbeat of this song is that I living my life the best that I can for God above.

3rd song – MY TRUST
Life can be tiring and taxing. Despite the challenges, we must strive on and stay strong. Trusting God with all our heart.

4th song – CREATING MIRACLES
The message of the song is simple. United we stand, divided we fall.

5th song – HOPE
Sometimes when the world seems to be too much to bear, sometimes when things seems to be a burden, we can look up to God for He is our hope and strength.

6th song – LOOK INTO THE SKY
As we live our lives, we know that someone up there watching and protecting us.

7th song – YOU REMIND ME
People and friends come and go in life. We meet different people along the way in our lives. This song speaks of a person’s memories and relationship with friends and people

8th song – LOST IN LOVE(amazing grace)
God loves us so much that even though we are imperfect, He gave us grace and mercy. It’s a love that no one can give.

Just came back from Ipoh..

Was at Infuse's Encounter Night, leading worship and singing some of my songs there. All in all, had a great time there, the crowd was really pumped to give their all and hearts out to God. I believe God really did something in their hearts. It's a great joy to be spending time together praising His name.

It was simple and humble experience for us, most of all, we are really blessed by the hospitality of INFUSE. Lots of good food outing with them. haha. May God bless this ministry as they shine for God.

DEYC2011 was a great camp and indeed, I believe the youths learned a lot in knowing how great God is.

This is quite a random video because I was chilling in the office with Sam Vun and he wanted to test his newly bought camera. So what better way to test the new camera by randomly record some updates... hahaha...

To recap the video, June will pretty much busy month but exciting one nevertheless...

Firstly, yes will be off to KK for recording with Jonathan Tse for new project, new album =)

Next I will be at Sabh DEYC 2011, then back to KL attending friend's wedding -- singing in it as well(although didnt mentioned it here :P)

And yes, officially announcing that on 25th June will be at Ipoh to be at INFUSE night.

Yea.. because some are confirmed and some are not... hahaha..

Month of May - my highlight is I would be my church's family camp.

By project-wise, I will head back to studio for new project recording. Yes, I scheduled to be at Jonathan Tse's Refuge Studio around June, which subsequently I will be the Sabah Diocese's Youth Camp.

Would be heading back to Ipoh for another gig and one CF nearby KL -- all this are not officially confirmed but will see how!

So..stay tuned for official announcement and updates!

At the mean time, did this simple cover for a childhood friend who is going to US soon with her husband..

We grew up listening to BSB and when BSB last came to Malaysia for concert, we and a bunch of friends went together to witness it. hahaha. Well, this BSB song is dedicated to her and hope she and hubby will have a great life ahead.

FCC Easter 2011 - He's Alive

This is a recorded footage of what happen on Easter this year 2011 at FCC.

On Easter Sunrise service, we did a new song which was self-composed by one of our worship team member...yes...the main credit goes to Lo Shi Seng who compose this song.

The song is titled "He's Alive" -- a celebration cry that Jesus is alive which we all can rejoice and be glad on the fact that we are victorious!

Hope you all will enjoy this song.. I personally enjoyed doing this song especially songs that are self-written and composed. It is always fun to do such songs because you have a sense of joy and ownership to sing your own praise song to God.

My easter weekend ...

Good Friday -
FCC run an event that covers the 7 last words of Jesus. Something interesting which we had a simple orchestra plus simple acoustic set of songs with 7 preaching based on the 7 last words of Jesus. Turned out well and the hall was full till the max.

Easter Sunrise for FCC English service.
Me and the FCC WT presented two self-composed songs, primarily written by Ah Seng. It was cool, hopely we as a WT can do more self-composed songs, which honestly I love it and I enjoyed doing it.

Chinese service had this special guest performing while BM service have a great celebration service.

All and all, it's been a good Easter, and I hope this Easter really have impacted your life as much as mine.

May God continue to shine His light upon us.

1st April - Certainly it's not April Fool joke that Tim Lim able to visit his alma mater after 7 years -- St Michael's Ipoh.

It's been 7 years since I last step my foot on this school, yes that long. Anyway, was there to share at the SMI CF meeting.

Lead some worship songs, share and sang a few of my songs. Was a simple meeting but yet, glad to be there to spend time with the students there and encourage them to continue move forward with faith for God.

If you have been following my FB updates lately, things pretty excited coming up and let me recap nicely so you are in the know of what is going on...

1) Recently recorded a new song in studio with Jonathan Tse. Hope you guys will get to hear it but how, well, you will find out in future -- whether online, a special EP or next album.

2) A music video is in work with Zermi. We already finished some shots and hopely you guys get to see the end product soon! :)

3) Will be in Ipoh in April...
Basically on 1st April, will be dropping by at my alma mater during my secondary school days to share at their Christian Fellowship.

Then next day, I will be opening for Jonathan Tse's Ipoh concert. If you are around Ipoh, do dropby. *Hint :- I might sing the new song there*

4) A phoot shoot might be on the works also..mmm..

5) Easter coming up -- the most important date in Christian calendar.. there's an exciting Good Friday service in FCC.. so if you are around KL, do dropby!

Tawau - DEYC2010

Monday to Thursday - 29th Nov till 2nd Dec - was my first trip to Tawau. Was there for the DEYC 2010 (Diocesan English Youth Camp), leading worship in some sessions.

Here are some snapshots of the trip there..

Also, I got the opportunity to be at House of Prayer Tawau, situated next to St Patrick's. The hall is dubbed as the biggest Anglican worship hall in South East Asia so far. I say so far, because the record might be bated soon by All Saints KK if things goes to plan..

As the camp itself, I praise God and glad to see the youths are so passionate for God. You can see from the way the worship and respond to the Lord. Amazing and I believe God is doing great things in their life.

26th Nov 2010 Friday was the day that TL appeared on 1am ministry's Track Of Talents night.

Apart from myself appearing that night, RELENT was also on stage. There were other talents showcased such as dances and even a flute performance.

I performed 3 songs acoustically anyway on that night.

Anyway, I enjoyed myself there...hanging out with the RELENT band and their pastor/boss, Kelvin Lim. Overall, yes, it was a good outing there and looking forward to return someday to Track of Talents again.

Thank you 1am for the opportunity and Darren for the arrangement. Thanks supporters who came.

Here are some notes about my trip to Ipoh recently..

29th October 2010

830pm - Meet at my KL house, start journey to Ipoh

1115pm - Reach Ipoh. Rendezvous at my Ipoh house (lol.. many houses eh..)

1130pm - Supper at Medan Selera, next to Stadium Ipoh. Good food. How I miss the food there.

1230pm - Check in at our place of stay which was West Diocese Bishop's Ipoh house. Honoured to use it.

30th October 2010

8am - Wakeup and did devotion.

830am - Breakfast.. i mean.. dim sum breakfast!!

10am - At St Peter's Church Ipoh for soundcheck.

1230pm - Lunch.

230pm - Back resting.

6pm - At venue, setting up, pray and light dinner.

8pm - Event start!!

10pm - Sweat all over after an amazing time with God and His people. Praise God for the night, there are some people who responded to my challenge to know Jesus. Awesome =)

1130pm - Super late dinner/Supper.. so you can call it din-per? or Sup-ner?

31st October 2010

745am - Rise and shine and get ready for church.

8am - Setup and soundcheck as we lead worship in Sunday service at SPC.

9am - Start service. Had awesome time worshipping God there, I believe God is doing something great in the church.

1130am - in town - eat tau fu far, buy biscuits, food and salty chicken

1230pm - Lunch

2pm - Left Ipoh. Thanks for the amazing memories.

430pm - Reach KL.

That's a quick roundup what happen when I and the crew were at Ipoh...

A big big thanks to St Peter's Church folks for the great hospitality that made this trip so unforgettable. My family as well for playing a big part in making sure our trip is enjoyable especially all our meals. Indeed we are so blessed to be there. I have received lots of positive feedback and comments especially on how some of you are encouraged by us. All I can say is praise God and really thank you for your encouragement. Yes .. your encouragement encouraged us a lot =)

Big thanks to the crew for the great effort.. you guys are just awesome!!

I saved the biggest thanks to God above who really made all possible.

Hope to be back to Ipoh for more gigs. We love you guys so much..

It's quite some time I last did a video or vid-blog..oh well..

on 26th September 2010, in conjunction with Love Through Music campaign at FCC, I perform a special medley that covers Faith Music's Everyday and my own song Faithful.

Anyway, a bit of the background of this campaign. The idea of the campaign was to use our own album to bless someone..as I have type on the FCC website :- "Music is a gift from God. and just like any gift we have, we should use it to be a channel of blessing to others"

Of course, another reason is to show our support to own our talents. So yes, FM albums, my album, other FCC/diocese related albums were on sale.

By the way, FM performed during services and in certain occasion we have them performing at lobby. Other special we had in the weekend was we première the 2nd music video and me performing the only English track from the FM album in some services which you can hear it on this link.

Was fun overall and hopely we have more specials like these.

THIS ROAD journeys on..

It’s been a year since the journey has begun. It’s been a year since THIS ROAD has open up to the world..

Ever since THIS ROAD has been launched, I have brought my music to everywhere that I can, particularly to both sides of Malaysia (west and east). I m also glad the album has able to head worldwide as well via online sites and also through supportive friends who were in overseas.

I have been on the road to promote THIS ROAD (sounds ironic, does it?) to share my music and the message of hope and love to people. I believe very much that many hearts were touched and blessed and so do myself and my crew as well when we go around for tours.

A year on, I apologize there is no major celebration and specials to accommodate the occasion. I m sorry if anyone expecting me to do so but I settled for some simple thank yous...

Firstly and most importantly, I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity to do something for Him...using my gifts and talents to glorify His name. He is the main reason behind this dream, this journey, this album.. He has always been the heartbeat of all the journey and music..

Besides, not forgetting my family members for such unconditional support. And individuals like Jonathan Tse, Rev Lin Khee Vun, Rev Tan Chor Kee, both Anglican bishops (Bishop Ng and Bishop Vun), people from Faith Christian Centre, St Peter’s Church Ipoh, All Saints’ Cathedral KK, UTAR CF Kampar, Faith Music and many others – you all have been an amazing encouragement in this album journey so far.

For everyone else, I am encouraged too by your support in one way or another. Each of your support makes the journey worthwhile.

And the TL crew/entourage who are part of this journey, I enjoyed every minute with you guys. You guys just rock. From musicians to even just drivers.

THIS ROAD will journey on and on. Do continue to pray for me in this and do continue spread the love around via my websites. Of course, few more tours on the way and more exciting stuff coming up which I hope I able to reveal when time is right.

Sorry that this site has been quiet a bit but some good news..

I m glad to announced that I will back in Ipoh on 30th October 2010, this time leading worship, sharing and singing songs off my album in St Peter's Church Ipoh again. Yes, nearly one year plus after I had my album launch there. Well, Ipoh and SPC always have a special place in my heart as it is my home, where I grew up. =)

The reason I m there is because I m invited to an evangelistic event organized by their youth group (SPYF and Route 328). It will be an awesome time and looking forward to have a good time with the young and passionate people.

As much as this event is confirmed, there's a possibility that I will have 2 or 3 more appearance/shows before that. Everything is still word of mouth but once confirmation comes, we will confirm it here, FB or any TL-related pages.

Just came back from the trip to Kampar, where I was sharing/singing at their UTAR CF meeting and it went really well. Probably one of the best gig I have so far, really had a good time there with the people. The TL crew really enjoyed it and on behalf of the crew, we want to thank the UTAR CF for all the blessings and the great fellowship time.

Again, thanks for the wonderful and lovely birthday wishes..been overwhelmed by it and all I can say is a big thank YOU!!

Well, am here for some simple updates for everyone...

In a month's time I will be heading to Kampar to do a concert at UTAR CF. Pretty excited about it and am really looking forward to the event there. Sounds interesting and it's always a pleasure to be back at the University that once I studied.

Same goes to Ipoh, lovely hometown of mine, where I will be dropping by again, this time at 30th October 2010 at St Peter's Church Ipoh(again too!) to do a worship concert with the youths and young adults there. Prior to that, there might be a short visit to another place so stay tuned for confirmation!

The only unfortunate news that I have to cancel my planned date to Tawau due to schedule conflicts. However, what I m confirmed is that I will be part of Sabah Diocese Youth Camp at the end of the year.

With these dates mentioned, hopely I can meet some of you all out there. Once more dates confirm, I will update them at the TL-related websites.

Besides that, been busy writing new songs/materials and who knows you might hear some during some of my concerts. Hahaha. Yes...some surprise in stall if you come.

That's all and wow, half a year gone. Looking forward to make the remaining 2010 a fruitful year..hopely see you around too!!

FCC's 2nd album - Life Enlivened

This week we launch FCC second album - Life Enlivened. Music comes from the creator God and should be used to worship God. In 'Life Enlivened', we worship God with worship songs and share the Good News to glorify God. We believe that we have a responsibility to reclaim music for God in this generation. Apart from the Gospel Mandate - to share the Good News (Redemption), we have a cultural mandate - to glorify God with everything possible in our creative activities. For God created everything on earth and entrusted them to us (Creation). So it is not right to neglect other cultural aspects (including politics, social responsibility, economy, arts) in Christian life.

We believe that every gift that God has given us must be fully used to glorify Him and extend the Kingdom. We see that God has given us 'five talents' in music and song composition. Hence, it is only right to use the talents to the full. Of all people, somehow, we are the ones who are blessed with composers who are productive. Our responsibility is to nurture them and give them space to express their love to the Lord.

From the experience of the first album, we see that the church was blessed with all of the albums sold out in a very short span of time. The blessings we received was used to extend the Faith Music ministry and also reinvest into the new album. I am asking everyone in FCC to support the album - not because it is an album but because it is a sign of cultural mandate. In economics term - the money we use for the album will be used anyway for other purposes. Unless those other purposes are justified to be noble, your choice should be the album. We have the immediate responsibility and opportunity to support Christian talents and artists.

Life Enlivened

It's my pleasure to share about the release of my church (Faith Christian Centre)'s 2nd album entitled Life Enlivened.

We at FCC are very passionate about music, be it from which congregation you are. We here believe in the cultural mandate that music is a gift from God and we should use it with responsibility for His kingdom.

After the success of the 1st album - "Dream", the journey for the second album begins nearly 2 years ago from a song competition called Music Revolution 2+ , a competition to search for the new songs and talents around us. From there, we have various songs being submitted to us and with that, we are able to select songs for this album.

Fast forward to this year, for the past few months, we all at FCC have been working hard for this album either in singing, musicians, marketing or publishing the album. There are songs that varies in genre and languages. Yes, you will be hearing English, Chinese and BM songs in this album.

The album launch is on 15th May 2010 830pm at FCC. To check for information, head over to Facebook to get the details.

As a church music/worship co-ordinator, I m proud to oversee this project and thank God for the talents He has given to this church. I hope you can come along and support my church album. It's exciting times and I hope everyone can come and share the joy with us.

Greetings peeps,

Thought of taking some time to share the ministry I m involved in. Music has been playing a very important role in the church as much as other ministries and here at the church that I m serving, Faith Christian Centre, music is something we all passionate about because we believe in the cultural mandate that music is a gift from God. With that, Faith Music exist to use this gift of music for Him.

Faith Music have been one of the important ministry over the years in FCC - training musicians, providing music classes, preparing them for the worship team ministry and even giving opportunity to members to be part of album production. Faith Music have already released its debut album "Dream" and the second album would be out soon.

Week in week out we hold music classes to guide people in their musical journey, whether it's learning guitar or singing. The FM instrument classes are held every Saturday night 830pm till 1030pm. It's a friendly environment where every walks of life are able to come together with the common interest of music. So far, classes we are offering are guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals. I'll be teaching vocals mainly in case you are wondering.

As a closing, just want to share the article that I wrote for FCC website about our recent launch for the classes' new term, hope it gives you all an idea what's all about. Faith Music Launch

Some people said that the new year really kicks off after Chinese New Year and we at Faith Music feel the same way too. With the tagline, Brand New Start" , 27th February 2010 Saturday Night marks the new start for Faith Music instrument class.

It's Faith Music's vision to experience 3 main things - to have fellowship with each other, to dig deep into the word of God and to use our gifts for His kingdom. That basically forms the flow for the night. About 80 plus people turn out and the opening night was pretty like any orientation day that students would experience - games, presentation, speeches and then breaking into classes.

Overall, it was a good start and we hope through this fresh start, we can raise a new generation of worshippers who will be passionate for God and His kingdom.

Greetings,

I m just leaving a short note here to mark a landmark occasion. It's been 6 months since THIS ROAD has been launch. Really praise God for the journey so far and can't wait to see what's next for me and the crew. Hopely we will be back on the road to bring the music and love to everyone out there. At the same time, will be working hard to write new materials.

Greetings everyone..

I know lately we been quiet a bit but in the midst of the noisy firecrackers, let me take this opportunity to wish everyone here a prosperous Chinese New year and also Valentine's day.

I guess it's another chance for us to begin 2010 with a bang so I pray all of you will be blessed in everything that you do this year.

Before I close, I m sure some might be asking what's next for TL project, since the last gig was in KK in December. March, there may be two spots so stay tuned for more information. Another visit back to Ipoh again might take place in few months time and on 1st May 2010, I will be part of my KL church's 2nd album launch. At the same time, been pressing myself to write new materials. Hopely this can lead me to see how the direction of the next album will turn out, but let me focus on promoting this 1st material/album finish.

This Road is still available so please promote it as much as possible.

I will keep everyone updated but for now, have a great year of the Tiger ahead!

If you notice that on your right screen where it use to be the playlist of some of my songs are there but now it's missing. Oh well, something wrong with Imeem.com which resulted the list is not there. So if you are looking for preview and looking to listen some songs from me, you have to dropby at my MySpace site for the time being. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Tim Lim's Album Tour & Diocesan Youth Camp

4th to 11th December 2009

From 4th December until 11th December, I led a team from FCC to Kota Kinabalu on a tour to two churches; then subsequently joined the annual Diocese English Youth camp. We embarked on this journey to promote FCC to the youths and also to impact the next generation.

We visited the youth fellowship of two churches in Kota Kinabalu - Good Samaritan and All Saints' Cathedral - where we joined them for worship and icebreakers while using songs from my debut album as a tool to share with them. As bridges were built, we eventually joined them for fellowship and hung out with them.

Next on the agenda for us, after touring those two churches was the Diocese English Youth camp. We were told this is the biggest attendance ever for the camp - about 335 plus campers! Of course, being in the camp allowed us and the youths from all over the Sabah Diocese to know each other better through the fellowships and programs. The theme of the camp is called DIG DEEP, where everyone was given an opportunity to study the Gospel of Mark and all of us learned how to dig deep into God's word together. Apart from that, we also led worship in a few sessions and it was really a great experience to see youths getting passionate about worshiping God - whether they are jumping or lifting their hands to Him.

Overall, we had a great time in Kota Kinabalu, ministering and fellowshiping with the youths. We sincerely thank everyone who has supported us in this tour especially in prayer. We also want to appreciate the hospitality that was given to us by the Diocese, Good Samaritan church and All Saints' Cathedral.

Lastly, I would like to close this sharing with a Bible verse from Ecclesiastes 12:1a - "Remember your Creator in days of your youth" - a clear reminder for us all to continue to fix our eyes on God in everything that we do.

You may say this is little overdue..but it's better late than never..

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Yes it's the year 2010. As THIS ROAD has already been launched close to 4 months already, I firstly must thank God for His leading and blessing so far. Besides, I personally would love to thank everyone for the tremendous support so far to my project.

Not forgetting the amazing crew I have. From musicians to my entourage. Love you all to bits!

Certainly there were great memories when we were on the road - tour to Ipoh and KK in particular. Thank you all who came to the concerts and purchase my album. Please do continue to help me in promoting the album to your friends and family.

As 2010 has already dawned upon us, all I can say is there are tour gigs lined up but most of it are not confirm yet. Of course, love to tour Ipoh and KK but let's see how it all comes to. Besides that, I'll be involved in overseeing my church's new album as well - stay tuned about it. At the same time, I would be starting to write some new materials - hoping all of you get hear new things from me in future :)

3rd December:-
3pm - Left home
445pm - Reach LCCT. Thanks Danny for the lift.
530pm - Was told our flight got delayed. Aiks.
630pm - Our plane finally arrived. yay! KK here we come!!
7pm - Leaving KL on the jetplane..
9pm - Hello KK!!

930pm - Check into our apartment at Wisma. Lovely.
1010pm - Dinner with the All Saints folks and Bishop + family. Massive crowd. Blessings from Bishop. Thanks Bishop!
1130pm - Back to Wisma. Time to washup and get some rest

4th December:-
Rise and shine..so bright..tot it was 8am..look at my clock..eh 630am..haha..different zones man..
9am - after washup, short devotion.
920am - breakfast
10am - Good Samaritan van picked us - time for soundcheck at Good Sam

8pm - suppose to try some squarish pizza but the plan didnt work out. In the end, tried Little Italian. Nice Italian food!

7th Dec - 10th Dec
In Sabah Diocese Youth camp. Led worship in few sessions and all I can say that it was totally an awesome experience..had great fun with 335 Sabah youths.

11th Dec
10am till 4pm - Since some of us were free..we hangout at 1Borneo. Walk around..watch movie..etc.
415pm - Say our last goodbyes to All Saints
440pm - At airport to check-in
6pm - Bye KK...thanks for the memorable times.. :)
830pm - Back at KL

Really thank God for His guidance and secondly, thanks to the churches and their crew who provided a superb hospitality. Had a great time sharing and singing..also hanging out with lotsa nice and great people.

Indeed this trip has been memorable and looking forward to come back KK for more tour opportunities in future. Hard to say when but i can it's never say never.

story behind the song : you remind me

It's quite some time I type something here..

Love to take some time to share some stories about some of my songs off the album THIS ROAD.

Based on some feedbacks I received, most came to me and said they love the track YOU REMIND ME. Therefore, I love to share the story about this song and what is all about.

Tell me, have you been in situation where when you were hanging out with friends, having chats and laughs then someone randomly tells you, "Man, you remind me of my home town friend who talks/laugh/act like you." Or when you do something, then someone commented the way you do it reminds them of their father, uncle, friend, neighbour, teacher.

That thought basically forms the gist of the song YOU REMIND ME.

I composed this song nearly 3 years ago when I was still studying in university. I was sitting down one day in my room and thinking about all the friends I made over the past 20 years of my life. Some way in another, some of these friends have left an impression on you. Sometimes when you walk on the street, when you see a stranger or make a new friend, or the things that people do, perhaps they could remind you of the friends you have. Or when you are in a situation, you could remember someone because you went through that situation before.

It is in the chorus part I reflect on the fact that all of us are blessed with friends around us no matter where we are or at what stage of life we are at. Perhaps there's purpose God placed them in our lives.

Anyway, I actually enjoyed recording that song and in fact, it was one of the easiest track I and Jonathan Tse(my producer friend) recorded. We arranged it very simple and nice for listeners. When I listened back, I myself enjoyed it. Just proud that I able to record a song that can show my appreciation to all the people I met over the past 20 plus years of my life.

Hope you understand the song a little bit more and would glad to share more stories about the songs I composed.

Kota Kinabalu gig

After much talk and anticipation, it is confirmed that TL project will be in Kota Kinabalu from 3rd December 2009 till 11th December 2009.

The purpose of the tour is :-
1) To promote TL's debut album THIS ROAD in Sabah, starting from KK.
2) To promote Faith Christian Centre, the church TL is currently serving, to the youths in Sabah especially in the Anglican Churches.
3) To impact the next generation with our God-given gifts.

The tour will cover trips to these churches and also the annual Sabah Diocese Youth Camp..

when TL speaks Malay..

As you can see in previous post, I was in this Klang Valley BM Revival Meeting which was organized by Jasihku Ministry on 22th and 23rd of October.

Personally, it was indeed a privilege and honor to be at the meeting to minister to them.

On my right is Jeffry S.Tjandra who also perform on the night. He is a well-known Indonesian Christian singer and was glad to be able to have some conversation with him.

Anyway, as for both nights, I enjoyed singing and sharing to them in Bahasa Malaysia. It's my first time honestly to share in BM and I think I pulled it off well. haha. The crowd were lovely.

I wanna thank Jasihku Ministry for allowing me to have the opportunity to share and sing some songs off my album to the BM people. Special mention to John Sapalo for initiating my performance on both nights.

Looking forward to more opportunities like these in future..yea..haha..

At the same time, I would like to announce that TL is confirmed dropping by at Kota Kinabalu in for the first two weeks of December. Dates for some places are unconfirmed yet but for now, we just can confirm that Sabah is the next destination for us..and TL will be at Sabah Diocesan English Youth camp from 7th to 11th December to share/sing at the camp. We will keep you updated on this then so stay tuned.

TL project's next gig - 22nd-23rd October 2009

As we promised, we will update you guys about the next TL project's gigs once we have news...

The next TL appearance is scheduled to be on both 22nd and 23rd October 2009 in a special BM Revival Meeting organized by all the BM speaking churches in Klang Valley. The event will be held at Faith Christian Centre and TL is scheduled to perform a few songs off the album THIS ROAD in the Revival Meeting.

About 500++ people are expected to turn up for the event. It's indeed a privilege to be sharing the songs with the BM speaking people in Klang Valley. Do keep us at TL project in prayer and at the same time, do come to witness yourself the BM revival meeting.

There are few more gigs/concerts scheduled but will be confirmed once the dates and details are all sorted. Oh well, just stay tuned for more updates from us :)

10 facts of THIS ROAD

It's been 1 months since we released THIS ROAD, the debut album of Tim Lim. Thank you all for those who have purchase the album and supported us so far.

In conjunction with the 1 month anniversary of the launch, we love to share 10 juicy facts about the album..

1) The first song ever recorded for the album was track 9 on the album, Lost in Love/Amazing Grace

2) My first-ever properly composed song is in this album. I m sure some have heard the story about it. It is track 5 - Creating Miracles.

3) The last song that was recorded for this album was track 11 - This Road. Ironic eh? haha.

4) Jonathan Tse sung as backup vocal on two tracks..track 9 and track 10. Spot it..haha.

5) The most easiest song, for me, in the recording process of the album was track 8 - You remind me. We finished recording that song so fast, I think less than 2 hours, and yet sounded beautiful.

6) Most songs were composed over the past 7 years of my life.

7) Yes, as you all know, the album contains 10 songs. But the fact for the past 7 years, I been composing around 90+ songs. To narrow it down to 10 songs is no joke. I have written all kinds of songs .. from circular to worship so it all comes down to make type of album I wanted to make, which helps in narrowing what songs to record for the album
8) The album name, THIS ROAD came to my mind 2 years ago. So when I was asked what name should I give to my debut album, the answer was kinda easy.
9) As you can see on the album, it has 11 tracks but it was supposed to be a 10-songs album. After listening to My Trust, I and Jonathan thought the long intro that was done can be separated into an interlude. Thus, track 3 is actually an interlude towards track 4 - My Trust

10) The whole production process took nearly a year, as I have to travel to Jonathan's studio in Kota Kinabalu for recording.

That's some facts I love to share for now. Stay tuned for more in weeks, months to come :)

THIS ROAD journey to Ipoh

On the 12th September, me and the TL project crew was given the opportunity to go to Ipoh to promo THIS ROAD..

The promo/album launch/concert was done in St Peter's Church. Lovely crowd, all in all, the event went really went.

In short, all we can say that the whole journey and experience is something money cant buy..really something priceless...something that worth while.

We had lotsa fun and meet up with few people there and indeed we were blessed with our time with them.

Just writing in to say thanks for all your support and prayers for the past two album launch events that we had, both in KL and Ipoh.

I just wanna thank those who came to witness the launch. Overall, it went well and I m glad to hear positive feedback from you all. Indeed it feels like everything happened so fast but praise God for His blessing and guidance in this event.

Wow..ain't it now more clearer that before...

After years of patience, months of hardwork and perseverance, days of anticipation, we have finally arrived on the day of the launch.

Yes, today is the official launch of my debut album THIS ROAD. Indeed, it's a testament of how God has been great in my life and to share this joy with all of you is indeed a blessing.

Tonight, the KL folks will be the first in the world to witness the launch and hear songs from the album. Certainly, hopely it will be a blast for everyone. Of course, finally the album is made available to the public for the first time starting tonight. So remember to come and support us!!

Coming Saturday, the party will shift to Ipoh and am looking forward to it as it's indeed overwhelming to do the concert at my own hometown.

I guess that's all I can say. Excitement and overwhelming is the words that is in my mind now.

With great pleasure, TL project crew would want announce that THIS ROAD album launch/concert will also head down to Ipoh as well!

Think of the decisions we all made in life. Milo or Coffee? Work/Study locally or oversea? What to work as..? example: doctors, teachers, accountants, lawyers, actors, etc etc.

This poem actually inspired the title of the album. I know over the years, those who studied literature will debate the meaning of this poem but as for myself, what struck me that life is full of decisions and each one of us take different routes in life. I feel it speaks that in our life, each one of us are given choices, or in this case, roads to take. In the end, the roads that all of us take is different than anyone else.

Thus, the title of the album, THIS ROAD represents a person's journey in life. At each point of our lives, we always reach some crossroads that provoke us to ponder and choose which would be our next route. THIS ROAD represent the life I m living now, the road that I m now travelling, and at the same time, sharing the stories of ups and downs in life, the relationship I have with God and people around me.

Indeed, I m privilege to be sharing my story to you all through this album and I hope you will be blessed by the songs in it.

1st FAQ : What benefit I would get for purchasing the album during the pre-sales?
Pre-sales allows you to book the album before anyone else does. At the same time, we will reward you for being the early bird. And what's the reward, you may ask now. The price for the album during pre-sales will be RM 26. YES..you can only get such price during this pre-sales period because once the album is launched, we will revert back to the normal price of the album which is at RM 29.90.

2nd FAQ: How to place your orders now?
You can place your orders in Faith Christian Centre after each weekly service, starting 1^st August 2009, at the counter which will be setup at the lobby. You can pay RM 26 on the spot or before 31st August and we will issue a receipt to you so you can claim the album on the launch date.
